The NDP Women’s Movement will join the global community in celebrating International Girl Child Day with a march and empowerment event on Saturday, 11th October 2025, (barring any inclement weather) under the theme “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis.”
The event aims to celebrate the strength, resilience, and potential of girls while highlighting the importance of empowering the next generation of female leaders within our territory.
The march will begin at the Market Square at 8:00 a.m., then proceed along Fleming Street, and conclude at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park, where an engaging programme will take place.
Event highlights at the park will include:
• Inspirational speakers
• Question and answer segment
• Community engagement activities
• Brunch provided
The event is open to girls ages 5 to 17, and registration is now open. Interested participants can register by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to (284) 541-9699.
“We are thrilled to create a space where our young girls can be inspired, heard, and celebrated,” said representative of the NDP Women’s Movement, Perline Scatliffe-Leonard.
“Empowered girls strengthen our families, our communities, and our territory.”
The NDP Women’s Movement encourages the public to come out in support of this meaningful event, as together we work to empower, educate, and celebrate the girls of the Virgin Islands.
