The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is investigating a Murder that occurred in the Purcell Estate area shortly after 7:00 a.m. this morning Wednesday 17th December.

The male victim who has been identified as 28 year old Devorn Furlonge, was gunned down outside his workplace in Purcell Estate. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Officers are actively pursuing all lines of enquiry. 

Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.

The RVIPF is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist investigators to come forward. Persons with information are encouraged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339, or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or 284-800-8477 from overseas.

Early reports are that gunshots were just heard in the Purcell Estate area, today Wednesday December 17th.

We have received an image of a body on the ground. We are unsure of the status of the injured person. The Police and medical emergency personnel have been called to the scene.
