The Know > Fix > Live > WIN! initiative, in partnership with WINBVI, the Rotary Club of Tortola, and UNITEBVI, will host the Youth Empower YOU Symposium on Friday, 27th February, 2026, at Save the Seed, Duff’s Bottom from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Empower YOU Symposium is a one-day, youth-centered empowerment and wellness event designed to inspire, educate, and equip young people ages 15–35 to take ownership of their health, mindset, choices, and future. The event is not-for-profit, and attendance is free.
The symposium will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers and interactive sessions focused on:
• Personal development and decision-making
• Mental and emotional wellness
• Nutrition, fitness, and self-care
• Respect, accountability, and personal responsibility
• Leadership, service, and community impact, and more
A major highlight of the event will be the keynote address by Ms. Emeline King, acclaimed American industrial and transportation designer, motivational speaker, and author. Ms. King made history as the first Black woman transportation designer at Ford Motor Company, where she designed the iconic 1994 Mustang. Her keynote, “I Made a Difference, So Can You!”, will challenge youth to believe in themselves, embrace their gifts, and recognize their power to create positive change.
“I want our youth to learn from real examples of what is possible,” said Dr. Arliene T. Penn, founder of the Know > Fix > Live > WIN! initiative. “This symposium is about helping young people understand their value, make informed choices, and realize that no matter where they start, they have the power to grow, lead, and win.”
A cervical cancer thrivor and health advocate, Dr. Penn’s work centers on education, prevention, and personal responsibility. “When we focus on becoming the best version of ourselves early, we make decisions that protect our health and well-being,” she added.
Dr. Penn, a cervical cancer thrivor and health advocate, the Know > Fix > Live > WIN! initiative has long focused on education, awareness, and empowerment—particularly in areas of health, prevention, and personal responsibility.
“If we focus on becoming the best version of ourselves while in our youth, we would seek to make better decisions that do not compromise our health and well-being,” she said.
The Empower YOU Symposium builds on this mission by bringing together professionals, community leaders, and youth advocates to create a safe, engaging, and impactful learning experience.
“Empowerment begins with knowing yourself and appreciating your strengths and flaws; fixing what holds you back by pushing forward; living with purpose by intentionally making good decisions; and choosing to win at life by paying kindness forward to help others,” she said.
In addition to keynote and speaker sessions, the symposium will include:
• Interactive youth discussions and Q&A sessions
• Gender-specific breakout conversations
• Vendor booths featuring health, wellness, education, and youth-focused organizations
• Reflection and closing sessions designed to motivate and inspire continued growth
Parents, educators, churches, schools, and youth organizations are encouraged to support youth participation. All content is age-appropriate, values-based, and designed to complement guidance provided at home, school, and faith-based settings.
According to WINBVI’s Founder & President Mrs. Alicia Green “The Empower You Youth Symposium underscores WINBVI’s belief that knowledge is a powerful foundation for living well and healthy. By providing our young people with access to information, guidance, and positive role models, we are empowering them to make informed decisions that support their mental, physical, and emotional well‑being—today and for the future.”
“Rotary Club of Tortola is proud to partner with WINBVI on the Empower You Youth Symposium, as it aligns closely with our commitment to service, education, and healthy communities. By encouraging young people to seek knowledge and understand how to live well and make healthy choices, we are helping to lay the foundation for stronger individuals, stronger families, and a stronger future for our territory.” — Past President, Abby O’Neal.
“Unite BVI is proud to partner with and support WINBVI in delivering the Empower You Youth Symposium.
