Top student Johnney Immanuel Benjamin is the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship Committee’s 2025 recipient of its annual scholarship award. Benjamin, a Class Six student at the Ivan Dawson Primary School, graduated as the top-performing student of the Class of 2025.

Benjamin was presented with multiple awards and trophies in recognition of his academic achievements during the school’s graduation ceremony held on July 2, which also included the coveted Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship for Top Student. 

President of the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship Committee Mr. Keith Dawson, presented the scholarship. 

In addressing the audience which included teachers, parents, well-wishers and fellow students, Johnney gave thanks to God, his family, teachers and friends. He also admonished his fellow classmates.

“As we step into the future, let us carry forward the lessons we’ve learnt, and the values we’ve upheld. Let us approach new challenges with determination and optimism, knowing that we are prepared for what lies ahead,” he said. “Today is not a farewell, but a celebration of the memories we’ve created and the future we’re about to embark upon.”

The Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student demonstrating outstanding academic performance and character.
