The annual Rotary Club of Road Town Kiddies Fiesta is back for another year, the club announced in a press conference held yesterday Tuesday July 15.

The Kiddies Fiesta which has been going for 30 years, will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Enid Scatliffe Primary School playground.

The Kiddies Fiesta Parade will be making an exciting return as well this year, after a short hiatus. The parade returns with the theme ‘Under the BVI Sea’ and starts at 9:00am. Registration for the parade is free for the first 100 entrants, and will feature multiple sections, each featuring different sea animals, such as sharks, lobsters, and turtles.

Registration forms are being circulated, and interested persons can sign up using the QR Code on the flyers. Guavaberry Media has attached all flyers to this article in support of the organisation.

The Kiddies Fiesta has been a signature event of the Rotary Club of Road Town since 1994.

“It’s one of the club’s signature projects, exemplifying our focus on youth and families. The event, which kicks off the August Emancipation season, provides family-friendly fun,” said the club’s Public Image Chair, Roy Barry.

“Despite challenges, such as Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and the COVID period, the club continues to host the Kiddies Fiesta, demonstrating our commitment to its continuation and success.” He continued

Newly installed President of the Rotary Club of Road Town, Dr June M. Samuel, has said that the event is their main fundraiser which helps the club to fund its annual initiatives.

Dr Samuel noted that the club is carrying out the Rotary year’s theme in the community through its service projects and activities. The Rotary Club of Road Town is part of District 7020, whose theme for the new Rotary year is “Recognise Needs and Transform Lives’.

“It’s a fun event, it’s catered to children of all ages and for us, it is a fundraiser, and through the funds raised with this Kiddies Fiesta, we use that to carry out our year of community projects.”

Projects being focused under Dr. Samuel’s tenure would include cardio vascular health, Project One BVI which would be ten projects over 2 days, water cooler initiative at schools, Literacy, mental health and wellness, Literacy around babies, among others.

“Our aim is to impact as many persons as we can.” Dr Samuels said.

Service Project’s Chair Gavin Dooley said that Rotary Club of Road Town was happy to be hosting the Kiddies Fiesta once more, and excited with the return of the Kiddie Fiesta Parade. He noted there would be entertainment for everyone.

“We have all kinds of games, rides, activities, food, everything that you can think of…local entertainment from different performers, DJs. It really is a fun time.” Dooley said.

He also called upon the support of the community to make the event a success.

“We need the full support of the community, come out, bring your children to have a good time. Over the years, we really had a good turnout, and it’s been a good success.” he said.

Sponsors of the event include the National Bank of the Virgin Islands, Frozen Imports, Trellis Bay Market, Treasure isle, Maria’s by the Sea, the BVI Tourist Board & Film Commission, Parts & Power, RTW, Ernst & Young, Bobby’s Market Place, DJ Malie, EVO HD, and Willo’s Catering.

The new Rotary year runs from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
