Following two separate firearm seizures during the Festival period, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has charged two individuals in connection with the incidents.

On August 2, 2025, Miguel Weekes, 32, of West End, was arrested following a targeted operation. Officers observed suspicious behaviour and, after maintaining surveillance, approached Weekes outside a nightclub where a search revealed a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol and 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

On August 4, 2025, Kei-Andre Williams, 22, of Macnamara, was arrested at the Rise and Shine tramp after being found in possession of a Glock 40 semi-automatic pistol loaded with seven .40 calibre rounds of ammunition.

Both have been charged with:

• Carrying a Firearm without a License

• Unlawful Possession of Explosives

They remain in police custody, pending their next available court date.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Jacqueline Vanterpool, stated: “We continue to take decisive action to remove illegal firearms from our streets, particularly during the festival period when large crowds gather. These seizures reflect our ongoing commitment to keeping the public safe, and we commend our officers for their vigilance. We urge the community to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to help us maintain a secure environment.”
