Hello You! When all else fails. You are the one who have to keep remaining yourself of that place where you were your best happiness self. You know the place, it just takes the process to get there. Here is a peom that reflects the way. The festivities may be over but your journey continues.
The Healing Process
It’s not pretty—
not the way people post about it online,
with tidy affirmations and perfect lighting.
It’s messy.
It’s crying in the shower,
and then laughing ten minutes later
because you remembered something silly.
The healing process is quiet sometimes—
so quiet, you wonder if anything’s working.
Other times, it’s loud,
with emotions rushing in like a tide,
pulling up memories you swore you’d buried.
It’s deleting the photos.
Then digging them out again.
Then deleting them for good.
It’s relearning your own rhythms—
when to rest, when to move,
when to let someone in,
and when to shut the door gently but firmly.
Healing is saying,
“I deserve better”
and finally believing it.
It’s forgiving yourself
for the days you still miss what hurt you.
It’s awkward at first,
like walking on a leg that’s been broken—
shaky, unsure, but moving forward anyway.
And one day—
without fanfare, without announcement—
you’ll realize the weight is lighter,
your laugh comes easier,
and the mirror reflects a face
you’re proud to love again.
That’s the healing process.
Not a straight line,
but a thousand tiny choices
to keep going.
To keep choosing you.
Keep walking in your light.
