Our newsroom was able to confirm with head of the bank Mr. Darren Vanterpool, who confirmed an incident that occurred a few days ago in Puerto Nuevo, Pier Rico.

The information shared noted:
‘Caught red-handed in the mass that was dismantling an ATH.
Police from the Hato Rey precinct caught a man who was dismantling an ATM at the branch of the Popular Bank on Franklin Delano Roosevelt Avenue, in Puerto Nuevo.
The events were reported at 2:10 a.m. today, Tuesday, when the agents surprised Yamil Pellot Montes, 31 years old and resident of Puerto Nuevo
This guy has a criminal record for theft of a vehicle. The disposition of the case is unknown.
The case was referred to the Division of Theft and Fraud Investigations to Banking, Financial and Cooperative Institutions.’
The said incident was said to take place on Tuesday 12th August 2025 in Puerto Rico.
