RVIPF INVESTIGATES REPORTS OF GUNFIRE IN THE TERRITORY
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is investigating two recent reports of gunfire within the Territory.
In the early hours of Friday, August 15, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the Long Look area following an anonymous call received. Upon arrival, officers found multiple signs of recent firearm discharges. A number of impact marks, consistent with bullet holes, were also observed on the outer structure of a residence. Forensic officers processed the scene, and a comprehensive investigation has been launched.
Separately, on Sunday, August 17, police received a report of shots fired in Virgin Gorda. Officers immediately responded and inquiries into this matter are ongoing.
Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool stated:
“The RVIPF is taking these incidents very seriously. We will continue to pursue every lead to ensure those responsible are held accountable. We also urge anyone with information to come forward, as your cooperation is vital to keeping our communities safe.”
