Following the breaking news story released by our media house earlier this morning, both Necker Island and the RVIPF have now released statements addressing the incident, more than 48 hours after the accidental death of a staff member of Necker Island.
Both Necker Island and the RVIPF have released very vague statements, void of any meaningful information, both being unable to identify the victim or the type of vehicle involved in the incident, but Necker confirming that the victim sustained a head injury.
Necker Island is vague on the time the accident occurred, saying the late hours of 29th August in their released statement, and have declined to give a time in which local authorities were notified.
Local Police are confirming that they received a report on the matter some time after 12am on August 30th, but are unable to give the time the accident actually occurred.
While the statement released by Necker appeared somewhat confusing, referencing ‘they’ ‘his’ and ‘team member’ all at the same time, the RVIPF’s release confirmed that the victim is a male, and another individual was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased. This is a tragic event, and the RVIPF is committed to conducting a thorough investigation.” Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool stated.
“It is with deepest sadness that we can confirm that one of our Necker Island team members, sadly passed away on Saturday 30 August 2025.
They were a hugely talented and exceptional member of the Necker Island family, and we are all devastated by this news.
Our utmost priority is the wellbeing of their family and friends, and that of our team, and we are doing everything we can to support them all during this very difficult time.” A statement from Necker Island read.
