Our newsroom has reached out to Premier Natalio Wheatley for a response on the matter.
“I will address this at my next press conference.” Premier Dr. Natalio Wheatley on the matter.
We also reached out to Leader of the Opposition, Honourable Myron Walwyn for comment on the matter, who has stated his preference to wait until the Governor formally announces his position.
We understand the fallout between the Governor and the Ag. COP has come due to her unwillingness to be ‘lock and step’ with decisions he has been making. Prior, the Governor had publicly thanked Ag COP Vanterpool for her great work.
The Governor held a press conference on Tuesday November 4th to update the Territory on security matters. He was asked by numerous reporters about his position on the Ag COP, and his intentions to remove her. He was unwilling to directly address the matter, however he is willing to announce this major decision without the press’ presence, to put forward any questions on the matter.
We will keep you updated as this matter continues to unfold.
