Further to their Community Update dated 30 December 2025, Tortola Pier Park Ltd. (“Pier Park”) is advising that works to install the permanent Astro Turf surface at the Lawn will officially commence on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, with an estimated completion date of 15 March 2026.
This upgrade represents a significant and long-planned enhancement to one of the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park’s most utilized community spaces. The Lawn serves as a central venue for public gatherings, cultural events, holiday programming, and large-scale celebrations. The installation of a permanent Astro Turf surface will provide a durable, year-round solution designed to withstand high foot traffic while maintaining a clean and event-ready appearance.
As part of the agreement permitting VISAR’s Winter Wonderland to operate at the facility during the holiday season, VISAR agreed to provide the Astro Turf surface.

In the interim period following the holiday events, temporary turf was installed to stabilize and maintain the usability of the space. That temporary surface will be removed beginning today, Thursday February 26th, as part of the formal installation process for the permanent Astro Turf system.
Project Timeline
• 25 February: After-hours installation of temporary privacy fencing
• Removal of existing turf and soil
• Installation of compacted gravel base and weed barrier
• Installation of new Astro Turf
• Removal of temporary fencing and final site cleanup
• Estimated Completion: 15 March 2026
