The Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports wishes to inform the general public that due to the territory-wide power outage experienced this morning, there will be a delayed start to the school day today, Wednesday 25th March, 2026.

All public schools across the Virgin Islands, with the exception of the Claudia Creque Educational Centre (Secondary Division), will commence classes at 9:30 a.m.

This adjustment has been made to allow for the restoration of electricity and to provide adequate time for students, parents, and staff to safely prepare for the school day.

Additionally, the Ministry advises that Inter-Primary School Sports, scheduled for today, will now commence at 10:30 a.m.

The Ministry further advises that should there be any changes to the electricity restoration timeline or overall situation, additional updates will be provided promptly.
