Swearing in Ceremony held for Premier for a Week and Cabinet Ministers
Roman Nibbs Alberto, a 17-year-old 12th Grade student of Elmore Stoutt High School, was sworn in today as Premier for a Week, an initiative of the Premier’s Office.
The programme is designed to give young people firsthand experience in government and leadership, while fostering civic engagement and developing public speaking and decision-making skills.
His Cabinet Ministers include Niaeika Aymer, Trishelle Phillips, Rudell Stoute, and Zhane Waters. They also took the Oath of Allegiance during the ceremony, which was officiated by His Excellency, Governor Daniel Pruce.
During his tenure, Mr. Nibbs Alberto, the “Premier for a Week”, will gain practical, hands-on exposure to the inner workings of government. His experience will include participating in official government activities and high-level meetings, receiving training in governance, and attending key meetings with Ministers of Government. He will also engage with the public through a featured radio or television interview, work alongside a communications team, and be supported by a personal assistant.
Additionally, the student Premier may travel with Premier, Honourable Dr. Natalio D. Wheatley between islands as scheduled, carry out assigned duties using official resources, and represent the Office of the Premier in a professional role throughout the week.
