The British Virgin Islands will once again welcome residents and visitors alike to the vibrant celebration of ocean adventure, culture, and environmental stewardship during BVI Wreck Week 2026, taking place June 21–27 across the Territory.

More than just a diving event, BVI Wreck Week is a week-long experience designed to connect people to the beauty, history, and importance of the BVI’s marine environment through education, community engagement, and unforgettable island experiences.

Centered around the theme, “Love the Sea. Love the BVI. Keep It Thriving,” the week combines world-class diving with beach cleanups, cultural activities, local heritage, youth engagement, fundraisers, and community celebrations — all aimed at inspiring greater stewardship of the islands and surrounding waters.

It’s not just about what’s underwater as BVI Wreck Week offers a wide range of activities for divers, families, residents, and visitors alike. The 2026 lineup includes coastal cleanups in Tortola, Virgin Gorda, and Anegada; a Salt Island cultural experience and wreath laying; live music and The Heritage Dancers; a Paint & Sip fundraiser; movie night at Leverick Bay; youth and community activities; pirate lore and historical storytelling; quizzes and presentations; and a grand farewell celebration at Nanny Cay featuring local food, music, and The Islander swimsuit fashion show.

As for the divers, they will have the opportunity to explore some of the BVI’s most iconic underwater wrecks and art reefs, including the RMS Rhone near Salt Island, Willy T off Peter Island, SharkPlaneo off the Dog Islands, Wreck Alley near Cooper Island, and if the weather cooperates, The Chikuzen on the way to Anegada, as well as the Kodiak Queen off Virgin Gorda

“BVI Wreck Week is about celebrating the ocean that shapes our identity and livelihoods while encouraging both residents and visitors to help protect it,” Kim Huish, Wreck Week organizer, shared. “Whether someone joins a dive, cleanup, cultural event, or social gathering, every activity is designed to deepen appreciation for the BVI and inspire action to keep it thriving for generations to come.”

BVI Wreck Week continues to grow as one of the Territory’s most unique eco-tourism and community-centered events, blending marine exploration, local culture, environmental awareness, and island hospitality into one unforgettable week.
