ROAD TOWN, Tortola, Virgin Islands – A 35-year-old man has been charged after police allegedly discovered a quantity of cannabis during a patrol operation in Baugher’s Bay last week.

According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), officers were conducting patrols in the area on Friday, June 19, when they observed Milford Todman Jr. exiting a red Kia Soul motor vehicle.

Police reported that officers detected a strong odour consistent with cannabis coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search of Todman allegedly led to the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis. Officers then searched the vehicle and reportedly found a backpack containing additional suspected cannabis.

Todman was arrested and taken to the Road Town Police Station for processing.

He has since been charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply in relation to approximately 385 grams of suspected cannabis.

The accused was granted bail in the amount of $20,000 and is scheduled to appear before the court on June 30, 2026.

The RVIPF is continuing to appeal to members of the public for assistance in combating illegal drug activity and other criminal offences. Anyone with information that may assist police investigations is encouraged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9512 or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).

As with all criminal matters, the charge remains an allegation, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
