ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI — The Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) has highlighted several ongoing development initiatives across the Virgin Islands during a recent Rotary luncheon held in recognition of Economic and Community Development Month.

The RDA’s Manager of Project Planning and Management, Jeremy Hodge, was invited as a guest speaker at the luncheon, where he provided Rotarians with updates on three key projects being advanced through the Agency.

The projects highlighted were the Agricultural Complex, the Fisheries Landing Site at the Omar Hodge Fisher’s Wharf, and the DeCastro Street Sidewalk Improvement Project.

During his presentation, Hodge provided an overview of the projects and their role in supporting infrastructure development, strengthening local communities and contributing to the Territory’s broader economic development objectives.

The engagement also gave members of the Rotary Club of Tortola an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the potential impact of the projects on residents, businesses and the wider community.

The Agricultural Complex forms part of efforts to strengthen the Territory’s agricultural sector, while the Fisheries Landing Site at the Omar Hodge Fisher’s Wharf is intended to support the local fisheries industry and improve facilities for those operating within the sector.

Meanwhile, the DeCastro Street Sidewalk Improvement Project focuses on improvements to pedestrian infrastructure in Road Town, contributing to the continued enhancement of the Territory’s capital.

The RDA said opportunities such as the Rotary engagement are important in keeping community stakeholders informed about projects being undertaken and their anticipated benefits.

The Agency expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club of Tortola for the invitation and for its continued commitment to economic and community development throughout the Virgin Islands.

The RDA said it looks forward to continued engagement with community organisations and stakeholders as development projects progress across the Territory.
