Authors, Joshua Edwards, Dr. Albert Thompkins, and Walter Barrett whose first initials comprise the title, had previously worked on individual projects prior to JAWS. They decided to collaborate on this text, based on the similar aligned interests, passions, and the overall desire to empower people.
According to the preface, “J.A.W.S. is not some large, oversized, dangerous predator in the ocean that attacks boats and swimmers, but rather, a massive, living, moving body of thoughts, ideas, principles, and concepts that attacks stagnancy, mediocrity, and status quo.”
The book also recounts the individual experiences of each of the authors from their own unique perspectives.
The preface further states, “The book is a testimony to its very name. It speaks of the journey each author had to embark upon, the approach they took in their writing, and the work they had to put in for their project to be a success.”
The authors also said:” Your attention to the journey, the approach, and the work will determine the level of your success.”
Director at the Department of Culture Dr. Katherine Smith stated that the department continues to celebrate local authors and their contributions.
Dr. Smith said, “We would like to congratulate the authors on their substantial book. In our opinion, this work will not only help every one of us as individuals, but it is also of great value to organisations.”
The director added, “This book has a broad appeal and it is wonderful to see these authors hone their skills for the betterment of all. Please join the movement.”
Persons are invited to attend the launch on Thursday April 11, at the New Life Baptist Church at 6:45 p.m. Books will be on sale at the book launch and on Amazon, subsequent to the launch.
