Hello You!

Hello You! As Melody Beattie said, "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more." Every year should be thankful for life itself, but also focus on the simplest blessings we receive every day. It is a time for quiet reflection and enjoying beautiful moment with our family/loved ones. So this year, take just one minute. Stop. Reflect and be thankful.

Thanksgiving to Me

Warm, island-rooted, and healing

Thanksgiving to me hits different this year,

not hiding my tiredness, but..

Just showing up as me

honest, grateful, and finally at peace.

The BVI feels sweeter in this season,

the calm before the Christmas rush,

the scent of roasted provisions,

mac pie bubbling in someone’s oven,

and the sea breeze drifting through open windows

like a gentle reminder:

“You made it through.”

Family gathering, couples dinner, laughter rising,

children running around barefoot,

music humming low in the background,

a little fungi band, a little soca,

because we don’t need much

to feel festive in these islands.

And somewhere between the blessings and the laughter,

I realized this:

I’m living.

Stepping into gratitude

not because everything is perfect,

but because I am finally becoming whole.

This year, thanksgiving to me is softer,

but stronger.

Quieter

but wiser.

Still standing, still rising.

And as we eat, laugh, and share stories,

with the ocean singing somewhere nearby,

and life feeling light again,

I hold one truth close:

I deserve this peace.

This freedom. This calm.

So this Thanksgiving,

I’m giving thanks for the journey,

It is right where I needed to be,

grateful, glowing,

and grounded in the BVI breeze.
