Effective January 10, 2026, Caribbean Airlines will suspend two recently opened routes and suspend its Barbados base of operations. 

The carrier plans to suspend its routes to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The move is being seen as a negative development to regional connectivity. 

Caribbean Airlines will also suspend its base operations at Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport in February 2026 as part of their cost optimization strategy.
