The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is reminding residents and visitors to remain vigilant and exercise good judgment as Old Year’s Night celebrations take place across the Territory and into the New Year.

Old Year’s Night is traditionally marked by social gatherings, increased movement, late-night activities, and festive celebrations. While the RVIPF supports safe and enjoyable celebrations, the public is encouraged to remain alert and take proactive steps to protect themselves, their property, and their finances.

Safety Tips for Old Year’s Night

• Be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas.

• Secure personal belongings and avoid carrying large amounts of cash.

• Arrange safe transportation in advance and avoid drinking and driving.

• Stick with friends or family and check in on vulnerable persons.

• Celebrate responsibly and comply with instructions from police officers on duty.

Parking Advisory – Trellis Bay

The RVIPF acknowledges the BVI Airports Authority, which has graciously made its parking lot available free of charge for persons attending Old Year’s Night festivities in the Trellis Bay area. Motorists are encouraged to utilise the designated parking area, secure their vehicles, and follow the directions of police officers and event marshals.

The RVIPF will have increased patrols across the Territory to support public safety and ensure a peaceful transition into the New Year.

Anyone who observes suspicious activity or requires police assistance is urged to contact the RVIPF at 311 or 368-9339. The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force wishes everyone a safe, enjoyable Old Year’s Night and a peaceful New Year.
