Information reaching our newsroom is that both Honourables Ronnie Skelton and Marlon Penn met with Honourable Mitch Turnbull, in an effort to attract him back to the NDP, offering him the Leader of the Opposition position. We’re told the meeting went down at a popular bar in Road Town, hours after the Honourable Stacy Mather made the announcement that he was joining the VIP Government. 

We are told both moves, Mather and Turnbull are aimed at ensuring Walwyn is unable to go to the UK with the Premier’s delegation to represent the BVI in constitutional talks. 

Sources have also confirmed that LOO Myron Walwyn was informed of Mather’s move moments before the announcement. 

The Alliance who was made up of Honourables Myron Walwyn, Stacy Mather, and Mitch Turnbull, was announced on January 30, 2025.  In a shocking turn of events, on 22nd December 2025, Honourable Mather announced that he had joined the VIP Government. 

Inquiries to the Opposition Leader Myron Walwyn went unanswered up to press time.
