ROAD TOWN, Tortola — Government has approved the reappointment of six members to the Physical Planning Appeals Tribunal for new terms ranging from two to three years.

The appointments, made under Section 65(3) and Schedule 4 of the Physical Planning Act, 2004, take effect from September 15, 2026.

John Lewis has been reappointed as a member and chairman for two years, with experience in physical planning, architecture, engineering, environmental, coastal and marine matters.

Also receiving two-year appointments are Marva Titley-Smith and Sylvia Moses. Titley-Smith brings experience in physical planning, architecture, engineering, environmental, coastal and marine matters, while Moses has experience in physical planning, real estate and property management.

For three years, James Bevin Braithwaite has been reappointed as a member, with expertise in coastal and marine matters, as well as research, policy analysis and implementation, decision-making and governance.

Jamealya Fahie has also been appointed for three years, bringing legal experience to the Tribunal.

The chairman will receive $500 per month, while the other five members, including the deputy chair, will receive $300 per month.

The names of all Tribunal members are required to be published in the Virgin Islands Official Gazette and a local newspaper circulating in the Territory.

The Physical Planning Appeals Tribunal provides a mechanism for persons to challenge certain decisions made under the Territory’s physical planning framework, making its composition significant to the development and regulation of land and property in the BVI.
